American Mock Trial Invitational

The American Mock Trial Invitational (AMTI) brings together qualifying high school students to compete against top mock trial finalists from all parts of our country.  The 2008 Competition was held on May 18 - 20 in Charlotte, NC.  CLICK HERE FOR COMPETITION RESULTS.  Congratulations to all participants!

WHAT IS AMTI?
The American Mock Trial Invitational (AMTI) was established in May of 2006 by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers in order to permit high school state mock trial champions with weekend religious obligations to compete in a national forum. Last year the invitational was held at the New Jersey Law Center on the Douglass/Cook campus at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. In 2008 AMTI took place at the new state-of-the-art Mecklenburg County Courthouse in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina, Sunday evening, May 18, through Tuesday afternoon, May 20.

WHY ATTEND?
The invitational is the only nationwide mock trial competition that permits more than one team to represent each state - as many as three of a state's top four high school championship teams are eligible to participate. A team consists of 7 to 10 students.

All contestants will receive certificates, suitable for documentation for college applications, acknowledging their participation.

In addition, AMTI does not interfere with weekend religious observance or proms, AP exams or Mother's Day.
